VERBENA HOUSE
A modest renovation and extension gives a discrete post-war house sitting at the back of Toohey Forest a new life.
Through minor alterations areas have been reclaimed to accommodate an extra bathroom and extra storage, while maintaining most of its original structure.
An open living area with a sliding panel embrace the connection with the oversize back deck. This allows the house to expand facilitating different types of functions, from small gatherings into bigger events.
Using horizontal planks on the fence, it reads as another wall of the house making the house visually extend to the boundaries while wrapping the new landscape and claiming it as its own with the forest in the background.
